Homesick
Last week my parents and all of my brothers and sister went camping up in the white mountains of Arizona in Eagar, where Doug is from. I have gone camping here every year since I was a little girl. My dad was born here and I have a ton of family, and Doug's great grandfather founded the town of Eagar per the asking of Bringham Young. This picture doesn't do it justsice, but I wasn't there so I took if from my cousins website. My mother had three brothers and one sister and all of there children camping with them also. It is just always such great memories for me and it makes me sad that we were not able to go this year. When my kids saw the pictures they were sad and angry to saying that it was not fair that we couldn't go this year. It breaks my heart. This is there first year to never go camping up there. Hopefully we will be able to make it next year.
My parents sitting around the campfire. Why my dad is holding a baseball bat is beyond me, but he is always holding something in his hand when he is sitting by the fire. It is usually the shovel so he can move the logs and coals around. I miss and love you mom and dad.

Memory Lane Tag
Memory Lane...the tag that gets everyone involved. I got this from Rachel's blog. Be a good sport and play along. Here are the directions: As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

4th of July BBQ Bash
Since we were not able to go home for the 4th of July this year which made us very sad. We decided to throw a huge BBQ Bash at our house. We had around 40 great friends there to help celebrate with us. We missed those who were not able to attend, but had a blast with the ones who could make it. This was only the third year we have missed the 4th at home in Eagar since we have been together. In fact Doug and I met on the 4th of July 17 years ago. It is my favorite holiday. I love how we are able to live in a free country. By our house there is a fire station that is always posting little quotes and right now the quote says."Freedom, earned by a few, enjoyed by all." I love this quote. Isn't this so true so many Americans have died for our freedoms. I don't take it for granted and I have taught my children the same thing.
The Party started out with sunshine, but ended up with it pouring down rain.
Here the men are are having a war with roman candles. It was so much fun to watch, but I did not get very good pictures. Notice the flame going threw the shot. As you can see Doug got shot with one and it burned threw his shirt and caught it on fire and burned his arm. He is just fine, he said he use to do this as a kid all of the time, but never caught on fire. He said it doesn't hurt, but it looks like it hurts. I made a goody bag for each of the kids with some 4th of July toys and pencils, yo yo's, stickers, etc. Taylor was such a good helper with this project.
Oh, the food was off the hook. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, fruit salad, seven layer dip, corn salsa, baked beans, pasta salad, chips, dips and brownies, Carmel corn, and flag cake for dessert. It all tasted so goooooood. Everyone pinched in and brought something. We also have a tradition that Doug's dad started of the kids can have as much soda as they want and they don't have to ask. So we had everyone bring a 12pack of soda. We had three ice chest full of pop. My kids love this tradition and when they woke up they asked when they could start drinking soda. Usually it is when we get to the parade they can start, but we did not go to a parade and Spencer was so sad. Here some more random pictures: A picture of Hunter getting some food, me and my flag cake, we invited the Sister missionaries who made a short appearance and left us with a message, Hunter at a flag raising that morning.
We started out our 4th with a ward breakfast. Jessica holding a friends baby Colin, Taylor and Madison waiting for the bike parade to start, Doug cooking pancakes, the boys waiting for the parade also. I guess we did go to a parade after all. The kids just rode there scooters, bikes and skateboards around the church parking lot. All in all we had a wonderful 4th of July, but it is never the same if we are not in Eagar, but we kept up with our traditions. That is what my children will remember: soda all day without asking, flag cake, grandma's baked beans, and a BBQ with the ones we love and cherish.

Family Photo Shoot
Every year on the 4th of July we take a family photo. I love the 4th. I get us all matching shirts usually from Old Navy. Then we take photos. This year was the first time we did it by ourselves. We have some funny shots, but this first one is our best one. Notice it is our new picture for our blog.
Dang it Spencer has his eyes closed.

Movie night
On a whim we decided to have a movie night at 9pm on Saturday night. We called up some friends and they came over to watch Alvin and the chipmunks on a big inflatable movie screen (thanks Jamie).
The little kids enjoyed watching the movie from the trampoline.
Can you see the movie in the background. It is blurry though, but you can see how big the screen is. It is awesome. We borrowed it from a friend for the 4th of July, but it rained and we were not able to watch one.
It started out being a muggy night, but ended up being beautiful.
We are so blessed to have such great friends who will come on a whim late on a Saturday night to enjoy a movie with us. Of course the night before they called us at 9pm to go to the baseball field to throw and hit some baseballs which of course we did. Thanks Matt and Lynn you guys rock.

Girls camp or Bust
I had the opportunity to go to girls camp a couple of weeks ago with our young women and let me tell you we have the best girls ever. I had several other leaders from other wards tell me that they have been watching our girls and loving that they are such great friends and that they don't bicker and fight with each other. That they genuinely love each other. They also said because of that they want to put there house up for sale and move into our ward. What better complement can a young women's leader get. I feel so blessed to have these girls and I am very humble to be able to work with them as Young Women's President.
I have finally posted just some random pictures that I took at camp. We had such amazing food while we were there. Of course we had one of our own in the kitchen who let us raid it when we wanted. Thanks Jeanne you are truly an awesome cook. This is her with my other half at camp Jackie.
Two of my beehives Berkley and Anna on our four mile hike, that felt like 10 miles. It was like climbing stairs half of the time, but I did it.
Here our some more of my girls, Ashley B. Ashley J., Joni, and Vanessa.
The girls went to the lake every afternoon to cool off. They kept showing off to me and for the camera.
They also held a water balloon volleyball tournament, which our ward dominated at again this year. The girls were so proud to win again. This is Jessica and Amanda.
Our first day here at camp with Jessica singing along with the song. I love camp songs.

BUSY,BUSY,BUSY
Can I just say that I have been very BUSY!!!! I am still around, but just so busy and I love it. Don't get me wrong because I do like to lay around and do nothing, but these past few months I have not had a moment to in forever. Before I left for girls camp I was telling my friend Melysa that I made myself sit down for 15 minutes and ate a Healthy choice fudge pop (Thanks Laura they are so yummy). I finished the fudge bar and off I went again doing whatever it is that I do. It is funny I just go and go and go and I can't really tell you everything that I do. I went to girls camp all last week and came home to a very loving family and husband who do appreciate all that I do for them. They had cleaned the whole house and my husband even did the laundry. I LOVE HIM!!!!! I came home on Friday afternoon and we left out of town again on Monday. We will be back on Wed. and I will need the time to get ready for our 4th of July BBQ Bash that I am looking forward to. I guess there is no rest for the weary, there is always something that needs to be done. Isn't that a mother's job? (side note it is the best job in the world.)
